ORLANDO FASHION WEEK
I had such an amazing time at Orlando Fashion week in April and I can't wait to share my Vlog with all of you! The week started off with a Fashion Seminar with Founder/President Tina Bridges, where she discussed Spring Fashion trends for 2016. The week continued with Orlando Fashion Talks, a panel discussion with professionals from the Fashion industry, followed by a total of three Fashion Shows and VIP after party!
OFW was founded by Tina Bridges, who has been in the Fashion Industry for over 35 years. Having been diagnosed with tumors and various Infections the first year OFW launched, Tina decided to partner with The Assistance Funds to help individuals and families who are overwhelmed with medical bills.
As a non-profit organization, what I also love about OFW is that it gives opportunity for upcoming designers in the Central Florida area, ranging from High School students to successful Fashion designers like Lisa Nieves.
Today I want to highlight a very talented upcoming designer, Shirley Sapphire Colon.
Shirley has been sketching her own designs since she was 10 and aims to always think outside the box while staying trendy. As a recent High School Graduate, not only did she impress me at OFW but blew the judges away winning the OFW 2016 Harriet Lake Dress Award!
Shirley is one of the most humble people I have ever met and I absolutely fell in love with her collection. Passionate for evening gowns, it's no surprise that she plans to pursue a degree in Fashion Marketing at the Art Institute of Tampa and someday open up her own boutique!
